Mortimer and Whitehouse: Gone Fishing

Round the Woods’ luxury yurts will be featured in episode 1 of the new series: Mortimer and Whitehouse: Gone Fishing. To be aired on Wednesday 20th June at 10pm on BBC2.

Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse spent 2 nights in our yurts in October last year while filming an episode of their new fishing programme in Norfolk. They rented both yurts (one each) and spent their days fishing in some of the many local lakes. They cooked around the campfire and enjoyed our lovely local pub The Fox at Lyng. It was great having them stay and they were kept lovely and cosy in the October weather with our woodburners!

They have both suffered from complex heart disease and Paul, being a keen fisherman, convinced Bob to tour the country's best fishing locations to help recover from his triple heart bypass.

Bob took control of providing heart healthy food as well as selecting interesting accommodation and they chose to stay in luxury yurts at Round the Woods during their Norfolk adventure.

The 6 episode series will be shown on BBC2 from Wednesday 20th June at 10pm – catch the first episode to enjoy the fishing comedians for their yurt experience and to find out what they got up to in Norfolk. If you miss the episode catch up on BBC iPlayer
